Dinner in the Diner: A Look at Dining Car Collectibles"

A longtime collector of railroad memorabilia, John Fowler will share his knowledge on the history and artifacts of America’s century-long experience with dining on a train. John is the recently retired Executive Director of the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, a unique federal agency that promotes heritage conservation on a national level. In 2019 he published a book, “Silver in the Diner,” that is the definitive work on railroad dining car silverware. (See www.silverinthediner.com). His presentation will cover the history of railroad dining service and examine the china and silverware associated with it. Join us for this free monthly program. R
